08| There Was A Heartbeat

There she stood, just 15, staring at the double lines,
what could this mean?

It happened once, could this be right,
as they saw the image on the screen,
she closed her blue eyes tight.

And there was a heartbeat, she couldn’t help but cry,
there was a heartbeat, her life flashed before her eyes.
Her world was changed because of one
decision, it wasn’t her plan and this was not her vision.
There was a heartbeat.

Just a kid herself, she couldn’t do this alone,
would her parents help,
kick her out or send her to a home.
She thought of something else,
something she never thought she’d do.
She could solve her problem before anyone else knew.

But, there was a heartbeat, she couldn’t help but cry,
there was a heartbeat, her life flashed before her eyes.
Her world was changed because of one decision,
it wasn’t her plan and this was not her vision.
There was a heartbeat.

She finally made her choice, one she put her heart into,
she chose a family full of love, to place this child into.

Now there is a heartbeat, they just can’t help but cry.
Finally his heartbeat, his love’s right before their eyes.
There is a heartbeat because a choice was made,
how precious is a heartbeat of a little life that’s saved.

Their world was changed because of her decision,
it was God’s plan and part of His great vision.
There was a heartbeat.
