03| MY DADDY'S CHAIR

He sit’s there by the window….. down the hall in 302
Waiting for his dinner……like all the others do
I come see him every Tuesday…..doctors say he’s unaware
He never says a word…..he sits quietly and stares

Chorus: In my Daddy’s Chair
When I was nine….oh those were some good ole times
My mama’s face…my brother’s laugh..little moments from the past
No one told me that this life - it don’t play fair
Now whose this man…sitting in my daddy’s chair

Three years ago last Christmas….first time we saw the change
We were flippin’ through old photos…& he’d forgotten mama’s name
It was the hardest decision….and God knows that we were scared
And I could see that he was crying…..as we said a little prayer

Chorus: Around My Daddy’s Chair
Watching the news….football games and Family Feud
And we would talk...man to man...wish I could go back there again
No one told me that this life - it don’t play fair
Now whose this man…sitting in my daddy’s chair

Bridge: I squeeze his hand and say I’ve gotta go
And one day daddy you’ll be going home

Chorus: My Daddy’s Chair, in a place….where angels sing amazing grace
Eternal love…forever more…where every heart will be restored
I know mama’s waiting for him way up there
But until then….I’ll love this man…sitting in My Daddy’s Chair
